Meet Your Students Support Team

Ingebjorg McGrady - 8th Grade

Ingebjorg McGrady

I was born and raised in Norway. After high school I moved to New York where I attended college and graduate school to become a school counselor. I moved to Washington in 1996 and worked in the Snohomish school district for several years. I started working as a school counselor at Cascade in 2006. The middle school years are very important developmentally and academically and it's exciting to be part of a team that helps our students go from childhood to young adulthood. I love working at Cascade because I am always learning something new from students and families, and I get to work with the school's amazing staff. Outside of school I enjoy being a mom, spending time with my family, cooking and traveling.

Alexa Wayman - 7th Grade

Alexa Wayman

I was born in Seattle, but grew up in the woods across the water in Seabeck. I moved to Seattle in 2006 when I went to Seattle University (go Redhawks!) and I stayed here ever since. Before working at Cascade I worked with our district’s high school alternative programs for six years. I started working at Cascade in 2019 and I’m so happy to be a part of our school community. I love being a Counselor because I get to help young people overcome challenging times in life and take control of their futures. In my free time I love to knit, preserve fruits and veggies while they’re in season (I make delicious plum jam!), camping and hiking, and gardening. My favorite author is Zadie Smith and my favorite color is green.

Mara Pinza Todd - 6th Grade

Mara Pinza Todd

I grew up in Los Angeles in a family of six children. My parents were teachers, and four of us followed in their footsteps by pursuing careers in education. I have been a school counselor in the Highline School District for over two decades. I started as a full-time middle school counselor at Pacific, then switched to being a part-time elementary school counselor while I raised my four children. I returned to full-time work last year and moved to Cascade this year after my school, Southern Heights, was shut down. I love working with kids and families and being a part of the Highline community. Outside of work, some of my favorite activities are spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking, watching movies, and playing cards and board games.

I am the Prevention and Intervention Specialist – SBIRT. I received my Bachelor’s from Western Washington University and I have a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Washington. I am passionate about equity in mental health and embedding the development of social-emotional skills into academia. I love listening to people’s stories and I am grateful to be able do this work at Cascade. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, eating,  fresh air and spending time with my family and friends.

Nancy Trang - School Social Worker

I was born and raised in the Bay Area until moving to Eastern Washington for college in 2007. I missed being part of a diverse community so decided to move to Seattle in 2011, and I’m happy to call this place home now. I’ve worked for Highline Public Schools since fall of 2018 and joined the Cascade team spring of 2022. Prior to that, I worked as a social worker in both child welfare and hospital settings. I love being a School Social Worker because I get to support and build relationships with such inspiring students and families. It is truly a privilege walking alongside young people as they get to know and grow into themselves! Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are paddle-boarding, hiking, camping, and backpacking with friends; traveling; going on long walks with my dog; trying new restaurants or cooking at home with friends; and listening to live music. Some things I hope to be better at are gardening and DIY home projects.
