Learning Guides May 11, 2020

May 11, 2020

Dear Cascade families,

We hope that you had a safe and restful week.

In this letter, you will find:

  • Gradebook Information
  • The family learning guide with assignments for the week
  • Our suggested weekly student schedule with teacher office hours
  • A survey that we invite you to take that will help inform our remote learning plan
  • Medication pick up information

Gradebook Information

In alignment with our district grading policy, middle school students will receive a “P” for passing by attempting and/or completing the activities and learning assigned by their teachers to the greatest extent possible. When you look in ParentVue or StudentVue (P4: progress period 4) this week, you will see a N/A assigned in the gradebook until the end of the quarter, at which time the grade will convert to a Passing or Incomplete. Next to the N/A will be a list of any missing assignments for your student.   If you have any questions on this, please reach out to your student’s advisor.

What you can expect from us this week (May 11):

  • Monday: Grade Level Family Learning Guide and Google Classrooms will be available and updated with assignments for the week.
  • Please try your best to have assignments done and turned in on Sundays. Reach out to advisors and/or teachers if you need support or have questions.

Medication Pick Up: If your student has medication at school, our school nurse will be available Friday, May 15th and Monday, May 18th from 11 am – 3 pm for you to pick it up.  Please park in the staff parking lot at the south end of the 200 building.  Call the nurse at 206.631.5509 when you arrive and remain in your vehicle. The nurse will then bring your student’s meds to the parking lot. There will be a table and posted instructions for pick up to ensure proper social distancing.

We’d love to hear your feedback on our remote learning program: Please complete the survey link in your preferred language to help us to better meet the needs of your student and family.

As always, take care of yourselves and your families first and foremost. We wish everyone a good week!

Sincerely,

Daniel Calderon (Principal)

Kelley Schottle (Assistant Principal)
